Exchange Students Add International Flair To Choirs

Vuk Vukovic
Podgorica, Montenegro
Vuk is a junior at Williamsburg High School, and his host parents are Beth and Darren Spenler. He became an exchange student in hopes of meeting new people and making friends "all over the world."
Vuk was active in his home country. He played basketball, volunteered for community service projects, and took part in jazz and drama. He's equally active at WHS, where he's a member of 4-H, student council, FCCLA, men's choir, show choir, concert choir and the cross country team.
Vuk said his school in Montenegro is much larger than Williamsburg, and they don't eat lunch at school. There are no busses to get you to school, no study halls, or classes like foods or single living, he noted. But, he added, "People are connected here, like in my country, and the teachers are really nice, too." Vuk said he enjoys his host family and visiting big cities, but does miss his family, friends and his dog, Bak.
Choirs are more competitive here, Vuk observed. "It wasn't as organized as in Williamsburg. My school is larger, but we only performed for school on special days."
Vuk would like to attend a diplomatic affairs college and become a diplomatic affairs officer when he graduates.
